The Staveley Ice Rink was first established in 1951 and is one of the few natural ice skating locations in New Zealand. Nestled in an idyllic bush setting, the rink welcomes locals and visitors alike. Warm your toes by the open fire, skate to the music and warm your tummy with hot chocolate and marshmallows. Due to climate change and warmer winters, the rink hasn’t managed to freeze completely for the past few years. However a refrigeration infrastructure project is well underway which will guarantee a future three month opening season.
A short drive away and you can immerse yourself in the luxurious Opuke Pool and Spa Retreat on the outskirts of Methven. Choose between the adult-exclusive Tranquility Pools with swim-up bar and exclusive poolside canape and beverage service or the more family-friendly Discovery Pools to search out your inner child.
